PROGRESS AD was established in 1913 in Stara Zagora and actively participates in the development of Bulgarian mechanical engineering throughout its existence.
In the beginning were the production of the typical for the period agricultural machinery, equipment for the textile industry, pumps for irrigation, for fire trucks and others.
At the beginning of its existence, the PROGRESS machine and metal foundry factory won gold medals and diplomas from the Stara Zagora South Bulgarian Sample Exhibition in 1925, 1926 and 1927; The Gorna Oryahovica Sample Fair in 1926, 1927 and 1928; The Plovdiv International Fair from 1933 to 1937; The Varna International Exhibition in 1935 and 1936.
For the first time in Bulgaria in the PROGRESS plant induction furnaces for melting cast iron are introduced, an automatic foundry line is launched, complex foundry cores are produced with using of "Hot Box" process.
Until now, PROGRESS AD is a leader in the introduction and use of new technologies. For the last two decades it has been the largest producer of ferrous metal castings in the country.
